Digital Print as you’ve never seen it…

Zenith Print and Packaging Invest in Heidelberg Versafire EP & EV machines

From April 2019, Zenith Print and Packaging’s digital department will be outputting its digital print jobs on the Heidelberg Versafire EP & EV machines. Boosting our print armoury across the division, alongside our impressive litho division at our Pontypool site covering 6,225 square metres.

With customer demand growing for digital print and customisation, the latest investment will go along way to establishing us as a leading company in the print world. With the ability to print on heavier stocks and material, whilst still maintaining print quality with enhanced automatic inline calibration for colour consistency across the group.

The four colour Versafire EP machine will give us high volume production for longer print runs, with the Versafire EV giving an added bonus of a fifth colour enabling us to print white ink onto substrate before cmyk colour is applied on a single pass. The fifth unit can also be used for a clear toner or neon in either pink or yellow, giving the designer a wider scope for innovative ideas using digital print.

Kelli-Louise Johnson, Managing Director - Digital says: “This is a very exciting time for the Zenith Digital department, it gives us a huge scope to grow with the ability to take on short and much longer print runs for magazines, brochures, programmes and we can also run heavier stocks for low quantity packaging at competitive prices.

These new digital colour presses will run alongside our 2 Mono Oce Vario Prints 6160’s. This allows us to mix the mono and colour prints to provide customers with books, brochures, mailing, personalisation, manuals and many more other printed items, bringing their unit costs down.

We invested in these specific presses to ensure we could offer everything possible to our customers, printing from 60gsm up to 450gsm. With the 5th colour and long sheet option, our customers now have the option to print on demand, with amazing quality, and quick turnarounds.

We have already seen an increase in enquiries and have employed more staff within the digital department to support this huge investment. We also have an array of finishing kit to work alongside these presses, so can finish everything in-house with our 2 x perfect binders, saddle stitcher, laminator, wiro binder and die cutter.”

The Versafire EV also has a new “invisible red” toner which has a glossy effect in daylight but shines bright under UV enabling protection against copying. This method will be ideal for any security applications such as tickets, vouchers and passes.

With the digital department’s expansion and the impressive investment across the Group, Zenith Print now offers everything a customer requires. This allows them to deal with one company for all their printing requirement. From printing their business cards, brochures, posters, office vinyl’s to signage, packaging and exhibition stands.

Zenith Print offers it all, having an outstanding sales team to supporting our customers from start to finish with their jobs, offering advice and confidence which is second to none.
