Account Handler/Estimator – Zenith Media

Currently recruiting an Estimator/Account Handler for a successful print manufacturer based in South Wales. Due to business growth and an increase in profits, this is a newly formed position to assist the sales, production and buying departments. The successful estimator will have previous experience within print and will be able to work to and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimating accurate production costs
  • Liaising with internal departments, from material procurement, repro studio, press hall, bindery, despatch and warehouse.
  • Preparing estimates for the commercial manager and account executives
  • Verify layout with each department for production and cost efficiency
  • Analyse and determine quantity and cost of all raw materials used in manufacturing
  • Assess spoilage/waste of all raw materials, machine make ready time, run speeds, run time, hand work if applied, for all manufacturing processes
  • Obtaining sub-contractor estimates for any external finishing
  • Reviewing prices on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept up to date with changing information
  • Developing procedures for pricing / costing work
  • Manage tenders to achieve strict deadlines

 

Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of litho print process
  • Good mathematical ability, including good understanding of measurements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to understand customer’s and company specifications and explain technical procedures clearly to others
  • Takes initiative and ownership of projects and tasks
  • Excellent organisational skills including follow-up and accountability
  • Ability to problem solve, think clearly and logically
